from Santiago (Chile)
Sorry if I write in english as its much better than my deutsch! I´m Loreto (female) from Chile (South America) and lived last year in Luzern (learning deutsch!) I´m deaf and read lips, as I still hear some with help of powerfull hearingaids I dont know hand signals and manage pretty well.
After one year in Switzerland I found really difficult to read lips in german... what to say about swiss german! So I decide to comeback to Chile and think what to do in my close future as my plan of studying a Masterstudium in deutsch was impossible. In other hand I found that people there was surprised to find out that I was able to read lips in different languages and I together with my Mom have a great idea (she is also deaf)
We are creating a program for childrens between 6 and 8 years old who has no hearing problems to teach them how to read lips in order to improve their modulation and pronunciation and integration (It´s well know between latin americans that chilean has a horrible spanish pronunciation) I have been looking for information in other countries about reading lips programes but found no info in Switzerland... I´m planning to go there for 3 months next summer and reach information that can be usefull for my program as Swiss deutsch is really hard I think you are in my top 1st ranking place of programms to teach lips reading!
So I would be really glad that you guys can help me to find information or give me address about with whom can I talk or go (if I can see how it works it will be great also! visit some schools... etc.)
If your english is bad, can write in deutsch I can read pretty god!
Thank you all,

I give to, that for me read to lips in english more difficult.
I was with my husband for about one month in chile from december 2011 until january this year. My spanish is not perfect, communication was most with easy important words on easy singlanguage and on paper writted. Used often the dictionary.
but you can contact the DIMA, for learn better german in lipsreading. this is in zurich-oerlikon. this is very good for you. http://www.dima-glz.ch/
but the other possibility is by pro audito special for lipsreading and hearing training. this is bad for you, because in dialect not writting german!! you can forget it!!
