Answer 1 » RE: Moved to Switzerland
Yeah, in Geneva the folks speak French only, not German. It's worth for you to learn some French. And the LSF, la Langue Signée Française (The French Sign Language) is dominating there. Learn or die
And check out the website of SGB-FSS, they are the deaf association number one in Switzerland.
Good luck, Geneve is beautiful and the Deaf people there are cool.
Cheers
M.

Answer 4 » Preparations to move to Switzerland
As far as I am concerned, you mentioned you would be moving to Zürich instead of Geneva. That information would signify a big difference between living in a Swiss French community and the Swiss German speaking communites.
If Zürich, then welcome to the Swiss German city. It would be very helpful if you have some knowledge in a written German. You could always apply to the Swiss National Association of the Deaf ( as Michel wrote earlier- www.sgb-fss.ch enroll in a private sign language class.
Once you are settled down, may I recommend that you go to Sichtbar Gehörlose Zürich ( an umbrella organisation serving the needs for the living citizens in the Canton Zürich. Good luck.
