The swiss deaf society is a complex network of associations, umbrella organisations, companies and private individuals. Deafzone provides overview and brings transparency into the network. An important instrument for the cohesion and for the political fight.

Private individuals are unique registered Deafzone members.

Every private individual may belong to multiple organisations.
General information on the swiss deaf society
In Switzerland the deaf society is covered by two umbrella organisations SGB-FSS and SONOS. Both organisations are reflexing two different political directions: Sign language (SGB-FSS) and spoken language (SONOS). Both umbrella organisations have numerous collective members (associations and private individuals) and receive BSV contributions from the Swiss federation for maintenance.
Connections to foreign countries
SGB-FSS is member of the international WFD, a global organisation which stands for human rights of deaf people. In neighbouring countries Germany and Austria, many groups and websites are hightened active.

Pisourd
Thanks to an innovative concept, Pisourd offers more than 2'400 videos in the French sign language on the themes: health, sexuality, relations, families, violence, drugs, + 50, work/formation, world of the deaf people. An expression of information but also quizzes, a visual forum and a dictionary are there.
